Return to the Delta...Day 3 Report...Bull Red Fish, YES...Oil, NO!

Wednesday the 25 was an awesome day for Red Fish action, no question. Yesterday, Thursday 26th, was a so so day...we have those too. Rain was concentrated in the area of south pass and east bay all day, sometimes very heavy, with rolling seas at the beach of 2-4 feet and some areas more. We were able to pound out 20 Reds to 27#. Still not a bad day for roughly 3 hours actual fishing.

So figure three anglers had 138 Bull Reds to 36# over two and 1/2 days. Not bad. But we should well remember that this is within 50 miles of the worst oil spill on record, certainly on the Gulf Coast of the US. Let me point out, although the well bore appears to be plugged (sealed) there is still a monumental effort taking place to clean up the region. Workforce and support personal, remediation vessels, enforcement agencies and regulatory are everywhere...that's good. But even better...the oil and residual effects are certainly being remediated and all involved should be congratulated and thanked for their efforts and commitment.

I want to remind you of one last thing...the fishing is fantastic and the fish are as under pressured right now as ever. So if you're ready for some outstanding monster Bull Red action give me a call and let me set you up with Captain Keith Kennedy for a trip to the Delta!
