Geat Fishing Reports Continue for Redfish

Friend and avid Redfish angler, Dr. Gary Clark is at it again with Captain Keith Kennedy down in Venice, LA.
Gary reports that fishing the 20th - 22nd was excellent with fish above 30# common. Captain Keith has a few 3 day 4 night trips available for late summer and early fall fishing. All in all this has been a very good summer for the Giant Reds around Venice, LA.

Venice, LA Monster Bull Red Fishing

Great reports are coming in from Captain Keith Kennedy. Conditions are prime and the early summer bite is excellent!

I'm heading down to the Venice camp early next week with good friends and veteran Redfish anglers Gary Clark and Jeff Stagg. As you can see above, our last trip to the Delta together was pretty outstanding.

That was our first foray out to the bayous and beaches loaded with the new El Grande Boom R Ang. If you look close in the photo's the Boom R Ang was the bait of choice that week. BUT, that was with the "standard bass mix" Boom R Ang plastic. This trip we are armed with the updated "salt water" grade plastic and with some new species specific color combinations.

I'll be reporting from Venice Camp next week with fresh destination information and a review on the El Grande Saltwater Boom R Ang! Look for reports on the Fishing the Americas Blog.

Final Fishing Report for 2010 from Venice, LA

A final report for 2010 from Venice, LA from Gary:

After looking at this picture of a fish the last day that weighed 32 pounds, I think we should have reweighed it---HA! On my latest trip with Capt. Keith, I joined my great friends Dan Basore and his son Todd for an early December outing. We barely managed to squeeze three days in between strong cold fronts. With cold weather and wind, the trip started a little slow, but as usual Capt. Keith found the bull reds and the last two days in particular were memorable. We finished with 61 redfish anchored by a pair of 32 pounders, a few trout, and two huge blue catfish weighing more than 30 pounds each. Top lures were Tsunami split tail minnows, Bomber mud minnows, and live cocahoe minnows under a popping cork. We're headed home with many bags of beautiful fish fillets for the grill.

Bass wishes,

Gary Clark

Cold Weather...HOT Red Fish Action on the Delta!

Dr. Gary Clark is back at the Delta this week fishing out of Captain Keith Kennedy's camp. Along with Gary are his good friends Dan and Todd Basore, both veterans of Kennedy's legendary Monster Red Fish encounters. Yep, they've traded in lightweight fishing shirts for high collar coats but the Giant Reds don't seem to care about the cooler weather. The action, perhaps a bit slower...23 Reds today to 32#. Not bad!

New Fall Red Fish Report for Venice, LA...Great Fishing!

No sooner that the airplane wheels hit the landing strip from his return from the jungles of South America after a great Peacock Bass trip and he's off to the beaches and bays of the Mississippi Delta for Bull Reds! This report just in from Venice, LA and Captain Keith's camp by our friend and Redfish specialist Gary Clark.

Arrived Venice, LA this trip just in time for a big cold front. Fought wind and waves for first two days but caught bull reds anyway---along with some unwanted but very acrobatic black tip sharks. Then, finally, some great weather on the last day thanks to a welcomed high pressure system in the Gulf. Very warm with no wind. 40 bull reds in the boat with all well over 28". Two 32 pounders topped the catch. Plastics prevailed with Tsunami split tail minnows and the new Bomber mud minnows producing best. We experienced some of the most spectacular strikes and feeding frenzy ever! Total catch for the 3 days was 84 reds, 2 trout and many sharks (unfortunately!). Thanks to Capt. Keith for another great trip!

Best,
Gary

AWESOME ACRES OF REDFISH...For your fishing pleasure.

DON"T MISS THESE 5 PHOTO'S ANGLING FRIENDS...I like 'grip and grin' pictures just as much as the next. Who doesn't like a good hoistm' and holdm' photo shoot. I'll be the first to jump up and grab a camera for a great shot of a fishin' expeditions client with their trophy. But these 5 photo's may represent the most incredible feeding frenzy you have ever seen. Acres of Giant Redfish recently photographed on a feeding binge near Whiskey Island, LA.
