Venice, LA Monster Bull Red Fishing

Great reports are coming in from Captain Keith Kennedy. Conditions are prime and the early summer bite is excellent!

I'm heading down to the Venice camp early next week with good friends and veteran Redfish anglers Gary Clark and Jeff Stagg. As you can see above, our last trip to the Delta together was pretty outstanding.

That was our first foray out to the bayous and beaches loaded with the new El Grande Boom R Ang. If you look close in the photo's the Boom R Ang was the bait of choice that week. BUT, that was with the "standard bass mix" Boom R Ang plastic. This trip we are armed with the updated "salt water" grade plastic and with some new species specific color combinations.

I'll be reporting from Venice Camp next week with fresh destination information and a review on the El Grande Saltwater Boom R Ang! Look for reports on the Fishing the Americas Blog.

Good fishin'

Late Fall Fishing Report for Venice, La...Fishing is Great!

Captain Keith reports the fishing remains strong for the Big Girls: Fished Nov. 18, 19 and 20 with party of three, Hank Szopinski , his brother Mike and friend Larry Nickels. The first day was windy, North 15 to 20, fished the outside beaches at South Pass with limited success but the last two hours was non-stop action after a school of big girls moved on the beach to feed. The second day we tried another area that I had total confidence in, again we had limited success. Fish seemed to be scattered due to a strong cold front that came through on the 17th. Around 11am decided to make a big move and run 15 miles to an outside bay on the edge of Redfish Bay, BINGO !!!!! Fished late and left the fish biting at the end of the day. The third day we returned to Hole Number Two and the fish were waiting for us ,first cast fish on 28lbs, non-stop action for most of the day. All fish for the trip went between 18 and 34lbs………. Back to Venice and the Delta to Test the Bull Reds

Back to Venice and the Delta next week to test the Bull Reds...I must admit, I'm a little apprehensive. What will I find the conditions like after the last 100 days? Captain Keith says, "the water in beautiful...the beaches are clean for the most part...the mullet busting and the birds are diving. Had a friend fish last Friday and Saturday...outside island of Blind Bay and did great on Monster Reds. He said they boated a number of fish 42'' long and had a number of bigger fish break off..." I can LIKE that! And if it all works out I'm confident I've got a wad of fishin' expeditions clients ready to head on down to Cajun Land for some Monster Red Fish action! I'll report from Captain Keith's Camp next week. South Pass...you're in my sights!
